Terms and Conditions

Agreeing to these terms
These terms explain how Custom Vacaville Concrete Company works with you, both on this website and on jobs at your property. When you use our home page or any other page on the site, ask for an estimate or book work with us, you agree to these terms.
If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site or book work with us. If a signed contract for your job says something different from these terms, the contract controls for that job.
What our services cover
We're a concrete contractor in Vacaville, CA, and we build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, slabs, footings, retaining walls and decorative and stamped concrete, along with concrete cutting and foundation work. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
The service descriptions on this site are general information, so they aren't an offer or a promise about your job. What we'll do at your house, and what's included, is set out in the written estimate or contract for that job.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, and there's no pressure to book. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, so it reflects the size of the job, the access, the finish you choose and the condition of the ground as far as we can tell from the surface.
Some things only show up once the old concrete is out and the ground is open, like soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the new slab sits on, buried debris, tree roots or old footings. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, explain it and give you the added cost before we go on, and we'll only do the extra work once you've agreed to it in writing.
Each estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs can change, so we may need to update the price before we schedule the job.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
The dates we give you are our target, and we work to keep them. Rain, extreme heat, material deliveries and problems found during excavation can move a pour, and we won't pour in conditions that would leave you with a weak or poorly finished slab just to hold a date.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens enough to take weight. We'll tell you how long to stay off it on foot and with a vehicle, and following that timing is part of getting the result the job was built for.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials, set forms or done other work, you'll pay for those costs. Nothing in this section takes away any cancellation right that California law gives you.
Payment terms
Your contract states the total price, any deposit and when each payment is due. Unless it says otherwise, the remaining balance is due when the work is complete.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid, and we may use the remedies California law allows to collect what's owed. Any change orders you approve in writing are added to the contract price.
Your part in the job
We need clear access to the work area on the scheduled days, and we'll ask you to point out anything buried on your side of the property line, such as sprinkler lines, low-voltage lighting, drain pipes or septic parts. We aren't responsible for damage to private lines that weren't marked or pointed out to us.
After the pour, please keep people, pets and vehicles off the new concrete for the time we give you, and don't put sprinklers on it unless we've said it's fine. Damage caused by early use, by others or by changes to grading or drainage after we leave isn't covered.
Your contract will say whether the job needs a permit and who is responsible for it. If you're not sure, the city's building office is the place to ask.
Concrete, cracks and warranties
Concrete shrinks as it cures and moves a little with the ground, so some cracking is normal even on a well-built slab. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, but hairline cracks outside those joints, small differences in color or texture and slight variation in stamped patterns are normal for the material and aren't defects.
Any warranty on your job is the one written in your contract, and it covers only what it says. To the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, spoken or implied, about our work or about this website, which is provided as is and may contain errors or out-of-date information.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent California law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway, lost income or damage caused by things outside our control. That includes soil movement below the depth of our work, tree roots, flooding, earthquakes, loads heavier than the slab was built for and chemicals or other products used on the surface after we finish.
Our total liability for any claim connected to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law.
If there's a problem
If something isn't right, call us at (707) 898-1384 or reach us through our contact page first, because most problems get sorted out fastest when we can come look at them. We'll work with you in good faith to fix it.
If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation before going to court. If a dispute still isn't resolved, it will be heard in the state courts serving Solano County, California.
Which law applies
These terms, your use of this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would point to another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies to your use of the site. Work under a signed contract follows the terms in place when you signed it unless we both agree in writing to change them.
If you have a question about anything here, send it through our contact page and we'll get back to you.
